Connective tissue repair, cell biology and why Step 3 Elixir + Gua Sha works
After menopause, the skin does not change superficially, but structurally.
Those who want to improve skin sagging need to understand what goes wrong in the connective tissue - and what it will take to reverse this process.
I am 56 years old, take care of my skin daily and use my Gua Sha stone daily. With it, I relax muscles that have become way too tight and block blood flow, but make my facial expression look aged. With the Gua Sha stone, my skin revives. Combined with our 100% pure skincare line, it gives wonderful results. My cheekbones get a real elevator." -
What changes in the skin after menopause (technical)
After menopause, your estrogen levels drop abruptly. This has direct effects on three layers of skin that lose their tension as a result:
1. Epidermis (epidermis).
-
Slower keratinocyte renewal
-
Less lipids → higher TEWL (greater fluid loss)
-
Impaired barrier function (skin becomes more sensitive to internal and external factors)
2. Dermis (connective tissue layer).
-
Decrease in fibroblast activity
-
Less collagen type I & III (loss of firmness)
-
Fewer elastin fibers (loss of elastiscity)
-
Loss of glycosaminoglycans (such as hyaluronic acid)
3. Subcutis (subcutaneous support tissue).
-
Reduced microcirculation (the skin is less perfused)
-
Slower lymph flow (fluid accumulation and poorer drainage of waste products)
-
Reduced microcirculation makes connective tissue stiffer and muscles and tendons less flexible (you can see this in your cheekbones, corners of your mouth, cheeks, jawline, double chin, neck muscles)
Consequence:
The skin and muscles of the face and neck/neck become thinner, drier, saggier and recover more slowly. Sagging occurs not because the skin is "old," but because structural support fails.
Why most "firming" creams do not do enough
Many products work exclusively:
-
occlusive (temporary tight feeling)
-
superficial because they consist of mostly ingredients that do nothing for your skin
-
without mechanical stimulation (your skin needs movement, massage and lymphatic drainage to keep it from stagnating)
As you may know, connective tissue does not respond to stasis. Fibroblasts have both nutrition (supplied by your blood flow and microcirculation) as mechanical stimuli required. You administer those stimuli by briefly treating your skin with your Gua Sha stone daily.
If you don't, no cream actually helps and because of that:
-
your collagen production remains low
-
your lymphatic stagnation persists (thick eyes, thick face, puffiness)
-
Continues sagging progressively (sagging eyelids, sagging cheeks, jawline becoming saggy, sagging neck skin)
What does Step 3 | ELIXIR Vitamin Bomb do for your skin? functional nutrition for connective tissue
Step 3 is designed to address exactly that problem:
the lack of lipids, vitamins and antioxidants and regenerative signals in mature skin.
Technically, Step 3 does the following:
-
Restores cell membranes (fatty acid composition)
-
Supports fibroblast activity (which makes your collagen, elastin and other skin structures)
-
reduces oxidative stress (due to the powerful polyphenols and vitamins, Step 3 helps against the free radicals that damage your skin)
-
Lowers inflammaging (actively counteracts inflammation)
-
improves elasticity of the extracellular matrix in the dermis, which keeps your skin firmer
- Deeply nourishes the skin with vitamins (needed to support the ECM)
- stimulates skin's own collagen production
- Helps the skin to strengthen elastin fibers
This happens in the dermis, not just on the surface.
But:
without stimulation of the skin through the use of your Gua Sha stone and your connective tissue massage, absorption and activation remains limited.
Why Step 3 is essential at Gua Sha (cell biology)
What Gua Sha does physiologically
Gua Sha is not a wellness ritual. Correctly applied it causes:
-
Mechanotransduction
→ connective tissue cells (fibroblasts) respond to pressure and movement
→ increased collagen and elastin signaling -
Improved microcirculation
→ more oxygen and nutrients to the dermis
→ better removal of metabolic waste products
→ better drainage of lymph fluid -
Activation of lymph flow
→ less interstitial fluid
→ less puffiness and heaviness in the face -
Diffusion of lipids
→ Step 3 becomes more homogeneous and deeper distributed
→ improved interaction with cell membranes
Without Step 3:
-
mechanical stimulation only
-
little structural nutrition
Without Gua Sha:
-
nutrition reaches the skin
-
but fibroblasts remain understimulated
Use our Gua Sha set to achieve beautiful skin results.
Concrete skin improvements: what is visibly happening?
With consistent use of Step 3 + Gua Sha (3-5× per week) we see in mature skin:
Less subsidence
-
-
improved connective tissue tension
-
better support of skin structure
-
less "pulling down" by moisture, heaviness and stiff muscles
-
Less fluid retention & puffiness
-
-
improved lymphatic drainage
-
decrease in interstitial edema
-
Tighter contours (jawline, cheeks, eye area)
-
Less expression wrinkles
-
-
better elasticity → skin springs back
-
less "permanent creases" after mimicry
-
Wrinkles become less deep
-
-
improved hydration in the dermis
-
stronger extracellular matrix
-
Pigmentation spots fade away
-
-
better circulation
-
faster cell renewal
-
more efficient disposal of melanin residues
-
Refined skin texture
-
-
smoother surface
-
less dull, drab appearance
-
visibly smoother texture
-
Younger look
Not because of tension, but because of:
-
-
recovery
-
balance
-
improved skin function
-
Why this works specifically with women 50+
Mature skin does not need:
-
aggressive stimuli
-
strong exfoliants
-
excessive stimulation
- injectables that irritate the skin
But to:
-
lipid-rich recovery, vitamins, polyphenols, anti-inflammatory and soothing agents (Step 3)
-
rhythmic, gentle mechanical stimulation (Gua Sha)
-
consistency
This exactly matches the physiology of postmenopausal skin.
Practical application (brief)
Sequence your new routine against evrslapping
-
Step 1 - Regeneration Peeling (for inclusion).
-
Step 2 - SKIN DRINK (hydration).
-
Step 3 - ELIXIR Vitamin Bomb
-
Gua Sha (upward, low pressure)
-
Step 4 - REPAIR (barrier assurance).
Frequency
-
3-5× per week
-
rather regular than intense
In short, will you join our Gua Sha ritual?
Skin sagging after menopause is not a cosmetic problem, but a biological process.
Those who understand this process do not opt for superficial solutions, but for restoration of connective tissue, blood flow and cell activity.
Step 3 + Gua Sha works because it:
-
feeds
-
activates
-
drains
-
and enables regeneration
Visible. Measurable. Sustainable.
Without injectables.
Without forcing.
