We have not added synthetic UV filters to our skincare. While we understand the demand for SPF in creams, we have consciously chosen NOT to include it in our 4-step routine. Read below why.

NO SPF - reason no. 1

The first reason is that we want to provide you with a pure skincare experience-skincare that is 100% healthy for your skin. Creams with synthetic UV filters do not meet this criterion. We do SKINCARE and that is something totally different than Sun Protection. Try not to mix these two. We take care of the health of your skin, and for us that is a serious matter.

Many of us do not realize is that a portion of what you apply to your skin circulates in your bloodstream within 30 seconds.

We believe it is important that only pure, natural, and healthy substances deeply penetrate the skin through our 100% natural 4-step skincare routine.

The formula is full - reason no. 2

The second reason is that we stand for the high effectiveness of our 4 steps. Every individual that has tried our 4 steps is impressed by the effect of our SKIN CARE, our care for your skin. The difference is clearly visible.

This effectiveness is achieved by using high percentages of pure plant extracts.

If we were to add SPF in an effective amount, the overall effectiveness of our 4 steps would decrease because there would be no room in the formula for our high impact plant based actives.

3 Disadvantages of adding SPF

Adding SPF has three disadvantages:

  1. Reduced Effectiveness of our precious Active Ingredients: Our active ingredients would be less effective. Because the SPF influences them into less effective plant extracts. The total product becomes of less quality. We don't want that.
  2. Lower Percentage of Active Plant Extracts: The space in the formula would be taken up by SPF, reducing the percentage of other active ingredients. Making the formula less active on your skin.
  3. Ineffective SPF Concentration: The SPF added to skincare in general is present in too low concentrations to effectively protect against UV-A and UV-B rays and other types of light.

Conclusion: since we only sell premium quality SKIN CARE, adding Sun Protection Factor to our skin care is just a bad story. We prefer to separate our truly effective quality skincare from truly effective Sun Protection! Quality is what we choose and who we are.

Natural UV filters

The good news is that our pure skincare naturally contains mild sun filters because our plant extracts have natural sun protective properties, all natural and able to protect and repair your skin.

Steps 1-4 contain several natural mild UV-A filters: Green tea, Ectoin® bitop, Noriguard NC, shea butter and several plant oils.

These gentle sun filters are sufficient if you are NOT facing direct sunlight.

However our ADVICE would be: if you are going to be in the sun at the beach, cycling or walking, we strongly recommend you apply a healthy higher SPF factor (between 30 and 50 SPF) over your 4 step skincare routine and under your makeup, and refresh it every 2 hours.

We believe in the proven power of natural ingredients and we also believe Sun Protection Factors are important, but in a separate Sun protection product, and NOT in your SKIN CARE.
