How do I use Step 1?
Step 1 is a very gentle exfoliator that gently exfoliates your skin, removes blackheads and whiteheads, eliminates dead skin cells, removes air pollution from your skin, and deeply nourishes and hydrates your skin.
First use:
- Stir the scrub thoroughly with a tablespoon so that the exfoliating granules are evenly distributed throughout the product. Stirring helps distribute the granules.
Daily use:
- Take a small amount with DRY FINGERS
- Apply to your face and massage gently.
- Massage a bit more firmly around your nose, chin, and forehead, and more gently around your eyes and cheeks.
- Rinse off with WARM water in the shower or with a washcloth.
DO NOT let water get into the exfoliator jar, and close the jar after each use—this affects the product’s shelf life.
What makes Step 1 SCRUB & SHINE different from other scrub products?
That's right—Step 1 is a completely different kind of scrub than any other scrub you'll find on the market or have ever used.
- This scrub doesn’t dry out your skin; instead, it nourishes it. Step 1 infuses your skin with rich, non-comedogenic plant extracts.
- This scrub forms an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial barrier that helps relieve acne.
- Step 1 Scrub & Shine deeply cleanses your pores, causing whiteheads and blackheads to disappear.
- This scrub balances your skin’s natural sebum production.
- This scrub is suitable for both oily and very oily skin, as well as dry, thinning, and aging skin.
Do I need to follow all 4 steps?
The number of steps you need depends on your skin type.
You can always order a sample set first to see what you like.
But as a general guideline:
- For dry and aging skin, you’ll need all 4 steps. It restores the skin barrier, repairs cell damage caused by UV rays, rejuvenates the skin, and gives it a beautiful, hydrated glow.
- For very oily skin, you only need step 1. The nourishment provided by this step is sufficient.
- If you have normal to oily skin, we recommend using steps 1 and 2. Step 2 balances your oily skin while providing plenty of moisture.
- If you have young skin, steps 1 and 2 are often enough.
- Young, dry skin may benefit from steps 1, 2, and 3. This is a nourishing trio.
- Skin prone to eczema can often benefit from all four steps, as they all soothe allergies, deeply nourish the skin, and relieve itching.
How do those four layers work?
- Apply the layers or steps one on top of the other. They have a deeply hydrating and nourishing effect on your skin. You’ll achieve a beautiful, hydrated glow.
- The layers penetrate deep into your skin, giving you a rejuvenated look. Your skin feels comfortable again, and you’ll prevent dryness even after long hours at the office.
- Many of our customers find the layered skincare approach offered by the 4-step routine to be a welcome change. For the first time in a long while, their skin is beautifully nourished. And you can see that in their complexion.
- Each layer is tailored to the next and is designed to transport nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and plant extracts deeper into your skin.
- Each new layer of skincare further locks in the moisture from the previous layer, ensuring your skin stays hydrated long after apply and preventing moisture loss.
- Your skin will look more beautiful and radiant, more nourished and repaired, and wrinkles will no longer be able to form. Your skin will be less dry, less oily, have a more even complexion, and experience far fewer breakouts.
How do I use Step 1 correctly?
- Make sure the jar from Step 1 is at room temperature (about 19 degrees Celsius)
- Open the lid
- and use a clean tablespoon
- to stir the cream thoroughly,
- so that the exfoliating granules are distributed throughout the cream. At this point, they’re still settled at the bottom of your exfoliator jar.
Daily use:
- Using only DRY fingers, take a small amount of the exfoliator
- Apply it to your face
- Massage your entire face, neck, and décolleté
- Step into the shower and rinse off the exfoliator with warm water
- Once the granules are gone, a lovely leave-on layer remains
- By the time you step out of the shower, most of the leave-on cream will have already been absorbed
- Gently pat your face dry without rubbing
- Then immediately apply Step 2 Serum Skin Drink and 1 drop of Step 3 Elixir to each cheek, your forehead, and your neck
- Massage it in thoroughly
- Next, apply Step 4 Repair to stay hydrated all day and prevent cellular damage.
