what it means
The term "natural" is becoming increasingly vague in today's skincare industry, even within the supposedly green and eco-conscious brands. Many companies call themselves eco-friendly, but their products often contain only a minimal amount of natural ingredients. In reality, they rely on fillers and synthetics that contribute little - and sometimes even damage or dry out the skin.
In the battle for market share, many skincare brands allow commercial interests to outweigh true concern for nature, our planet and the health of your skin.
care for mother earth
NATURE IS FOR US ESSENCE
We need to reshape our deep connection with nature. From the very beginning, our passion has revolved around the wonders of nature: the rich variety of healing power that is all around us in butters, oils, herbs, flowers and extracts that she gives us year after year, in every season.
We feel tremendous gratitude for Mother Earth and recognize the powerful benefits natural ingredients bring to our skin.
Of course, for us this means
Here we want to be very clear
The first meaning of natural
For us, "natural" means that we always choose pure ingredients - 100% natural whenever possible.
Because true skincare comes from purity, not synthetic noise.
It is not only the most effective choice for your skin, but also the most respectful choice for our planet.
Definition of 100% natural
Natural: unmodified substances from nature that are physically obtained (e.g., from plants) or derived from microorganisms (e.g., via fermentation).
The second meaning - naturally derived
The second meaning of "natural" for us is to mix oil and water.
Therefore, we also use naturally derived emulsifiers and other naturally derived ingredients.
definition of naturally derived
Derived natural : Substances modified from natural sources using permitted chemical reaction processes.
Naturally derived substances must always come from 100% natural ingredients (no synthetics).
The third meaning - nature identical
The third meaning of what "natural" means to us is that we do not use scarce ingredients.
For example, we do not extract Vitamin C from oranges for skincare - that would require huge quantities of oranges, and that is not ethical. Another example of unethical ingredient use is sandalwood or rosewood oil. In such cases, we always choose a good natural alternative or nature-identical ingredients. When ingredients are harvested in a way that harms the natural environment or depletes a landscape or community, we will never use them.
Only when nature and the local community benefit from growing certain ingredients do we support this by purchasing them.
Definition of nature identical
Nature-Identics : Substances reproduced in the laboratory but also found in nature.
We allow only a select list of pigments, minerals and preservatives - and only when strictly necessary for user safety and ingredient purity.
Vegan means plant-based
Vegan for us is 100% natural
Vegan ingredients consist of plants and plant parts, such as flowers, roots, fruits, botanical extracts, plant essences and other parts of the plant. In all of our choices we put nature first, because that is who we are.
Manifesto
Our choices anno 2025/2026
NO to Greenwashing
We say resolutely no against greenwashing. It does not fit our values and is contrary to what we believe in.
Transparent ingredient use
We are proud of our ingredients and consciously choose full transparency. Discover and read more on our ingredients page.
Clarity about what the term natural means
This page is about what natural means to us. Above you can read our vision and definitions, so you know exactly what we stand for.
NO to animal Cruelty
We do not test on animals. And our ingredients are also animal-free. Even in our packaging choices, we consider animals who face plastic pollution on a daily basis. Therefore, we keep the use of plastic to a minimum and consciously choose bottles made of violet and green glass.
vegan ingredients
We use only plant-based ingredients. That is the original meaning of the word VEGAN!
Clarity about what Vegan means
We make clear distinctions: vegan for us means plant-based and of non-animal origin. In addition, vegan for us also means no plastic.
Human rights respecting
In everything we do, we respect human rights.
Footprint responsible
We feel and act from that footprint responsibility. This is how we started and this is how we will continue to continually scrutinize our footprint as we make new choices. Sustainability is never finished.
NO to unethical ingredient use
We consciously choose not for scarce or endangered plant ingredients such as rosewood, sandalwood or palo santo. Some of these woods take hundreds of years to recover; a rosewood tree, for example, takes up to 200 years to regrow to a mature size. That doesn't fit with our vision. We work only with ingredients that are quickly and responsibly renewable - like shea nuts, which nature gives us year after year.
Recyclable packaging
We focus on fully recyclable packaging. This is why we consciously choose violet, green and transparent glass, which optimally protects our natural ingredients. Our paper is 100% recyclable and comes from sustainably managed forests. Lids and caps are made of fully recyclable PET.
We limit the use of plastic to what is strictly necessary and for the hygiene of our products.
We are for a plastic-free world
We would prefer to completely eliminate the use of plastic. At the moment, this is not yet fully achievable for us, but we continue to set our ambitions clearly and work purposefully year after year to achieve further sustainability.
